Science Station members admitted free to Children’s Museum

The Iowa Children’s Museum in Coralville is extending membership benefits to members of the Cedar Rapids Science Station, which closed indefinitely due to flooding last month.
Science Station members are entitled to unlimited free admission for two adults and all children under age 18 in one household through Dec. 31.
“While our museums have different missions, we share much the same audience; families with younger children,” says Children’s Museum director Deb Dunkhase. “We wanted to do something special to help another museum in need.”
During the flood the Science Station received seven feet of water across the three-building complex on the Cedar River.
“We are cleaned out, have cleared all inspections, and partially restored electric power,” says Science Station director John Swanson. “We’re anxious to start rebuilding.”
