OK Go to rock 10,000 Hours Show in April
02-21-2008 | Music
The concert to celebrate volunteerism, also know as 10K, will take place at the Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City on April 22. Doors will open at 7 and the opening act, Iowa City’s Diplomats of Solid Sound, will play at 7:30.
OK Go is known for songs including 2002’s “Get Over It” and the later “A Million Ways,” as well as their recent video hit “Here It Goes Again,” which earned the group a Grammy Award for “Best Short-Form Music Video” in 2007.
The 10,000 Hours Show, a project now in its fifth year, is a year-round effort to engage young people in volunteer service that culminates in a free concert for which the only admission is 10 or more volunteer hours with local nonprofits.
The show is produced through a partnership between the UI and the United Way of Johnson County. For more information see 10K's web site.
