My Morning Jacket to jam at UI Recreation Building

08-18-2008 | Music

Southern indie rock group My Morning Jacket will play the first-ever concert in the University of Iowa’s Recreation Building at 7:30 p.m. October 7.

General admission tickets, $34, are available at (319) 363-1888 and all Ticketmaster outlets. A portion of each ticket sale will go toward flood relief.

The Recreation Building is located just northwest of Kinnick Stadium at 930 Stadium Drive. Parking for the event is available in either the stadium parking lot or the surrounding hospital parking ramps.

The event is sponsored by the UI’s Student Commission for Programming and Entertainment, or SCOPE.

My Morning Jacket was recently featured as a musical guest on “Saturday Night Live,” where the band performed songs from the latest release, Evil Urges, including the hit single, “I’m Amazed.” Recent live performances also include a four-hour jam at this year’s Bonnaroo music festival in Tennessee.
