Gallery Walks set for Friday

The work of several Corridor artists will be on display from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday on gallery walks in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.
Eighteen downtown Iowa City venues will take part in the Downtown Iowa City Gallery Walk, which includes newcomer Modela, located at 323 E. Market St, in the back of the shop named Decorum.
Other Gallery Walk venues in Iowa City include the Home Ec Workshop, RSVP, AKAR, Arts Iowa City, Bella Joli, the Chait Galleries, the Englert Civic Theatre, Glassando, Iowa Artisans Gallery/D.J.Rinner Goldsmith, MidWestOne Bank (formerly Iowa State Bank), MC Ginsberg, the Senior Center’s Old Post Office Gallery, the Sheraton, the Soap Opera, United Action for Youth (UAY), US Bank and West Bank.
A separate Gallery Walk in Cedar Rapids will include ARA Gallery, Campbell Steele Gallery, CornerHouse Gallery and Frame, Apple Creek Gallery and Frame and the Wiederspan Gallery. The galleries will host a variety of artists, feature demonstrations and offer complementary food and drink. Maps and additional information will be available at each location.
The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art will also be open from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday. Admission is free. Exhibits include “The Year of the River: Flood Photography from The Gazette” and two complementary sports exhibitions, “All-Stars: American Sporting Prints from the Collection of Reba and Dave Williams” and “The ESPY Collection.”
