Free movie series continues on Pentacrest Saturday

The 1988 comedy horror fantasy film "Beetlejuice," directed by Tim Burton, will be screened on the University of Iowa Pentacrest Saturday as part of the Free Movie Series sponsored by MidWestOne Bank and Summer of the Arts.
THe 92-minute film, rated PG, will be shown at sunset.
Through the end of summer, movies will be shown on the old screen from the Englert Theatre hung from the columns of MacBride Hall. The Bijou Theatre will sell refreshments each week.
Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Restrooms are available until 10:30 p.m. at the Newman Catholic Center at the corner of Clinton and Jefferson streets.
Start times will change from week to week, with movies starting at sunset. Music or other activities may be featured prior to each movie.

July 11: “Remember the Titans,” 2000, 108 minutes, rated PG
July 18: “A League of Their Own,” 1992, 128 minutes, rated PG
July 25: “Arsenic and Old Lace,” 1944, 118 minutes, unrated
Aug. 1: “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” 1977, 135 minutes, rated PG
Aug. 8: rain date
Aug. 15: “The Wizard of Oz,” 1939, 102 minutes, rated G
Aug. 22: “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” 1986, 103 minutes, rated PG-13
